Technology
is transforming the future of health care, offering the potential to diagnose
and prevent disease before it strikes, treat disease in a targeted manner,
and utilize cells and genes for patient-specific therapies. Fully realizing
this promise relies increasingly on research at multidisciplinary interfaces
and requires close interaction between academic and clinical partners. To
facilitate these interactions the Collaborative Research Center, a new facility,
is being planned at the strategic location of University and Main streets
in Houston, Texas. It will be open for occupancy in the 1st quarter of 2009.
